WENDI SMITH
CEO AND FOUNDER, LEFTOVER LUXURIES

Wendi Smith is a full-service interior designer offering a wide range of services to meet the needs of residential and corporate clients – space planning, renovations at any scale, kitchen & bath design, furniture and accessories, window treatments & upholstery, color specifications and custom finishes.
Your home is always changing... changing as you and your family do.

Wendi Smith tackles the design world with a unique level of energy and integrity that inspires her clients to realize they can have their dream home, reflecting their personality and individual style. She is known to mix traditional principles of design along with a bit of contemporary flair to create the “unexpected” by layering beautiful textures and bold patterns that vibrate with the perfect amount of sophistication, warmth, innovation, style, and approachability.

Wendi often uses a problem solving design approach by incorporating many of the items her clients already own into the finished product. She presents them in a new way and breathes new life into the room by repurposing restoring and reusing existing items – furniture, lighting, art and even architectural elements will be repurposed and reused.

Changing an interior does not mean buying all “new & expensive”. It is important to know what works for the space and the budget on hand. Whether the project is complex new build or a simple remodel, nothing is too large or too small. From choosing the right paint color to helping design your home along side your architect and contractor, Wendi’s unique approach to style will bring a fresh approach to any venture.

Wendi grew up in Southern California and moved east to attend The New York School of Interior Design before kicking off her career as a commercial designer for The Switzer Group in New York City. She completed many commercial interior design projects inside some of the most well known buildings in the city. Two of her favorites were the MetLife Building on Park Avenue and The Plaza Hotel located on Central Park South and Fifth Avenue. It was during these projects that her residential design took off. So whether it is a commercial or residential project, Wendi loves any design challenge.

While Wendi currently resides in Charlottesville, Virginia with her two sons, she has maintained and nurtures repeat projects with past and current clients across the country. She loves to travel and is always up for a new adventure wherever her clients and projects may take her. In trying to figure out the best way to utilize her client’s overflow of luxury items during many redesign projects; the idea of Leftover Luxuries was born.
